This program includes a Native American tale that is at least 200 years old, an Appalachian folktale from our country's earliest days, and an African-American story that was told to children during the time of slavery in America. These stories are part of the tapestry of early American culture. Today's children seem far removed from the time in which these stories were told, but the life experiences in these stories are universal.
